Great northern light experience in Tromso!
Our tour guide Jinyar is friendly and experienced, took us to a nice spot all the way up north and saw amazing dancing northern light. He also taught us poses and took professional pictures for us. He made marshmallows and hot chocolate to us too. Overall great experience and definitely recommended to everyone coming to Tromso!

One of the best of the nights!
We had a great night tonight. Out guide was constantly checking activity and once we got to a good location we saw the Northern Lights off and on for a couple of hours. Then he stopped the van on our return because he saw activity and we saw one of the best of the night right from the side of the road. A great night and I would go again in a heartbeat!

We rely on localized micro-climates. Our 250 km routing radius allows us to bypass coastal cloud cover. However, nature is unpredictable. What should I wear?

Our Private Expeditions are highly recommended for families with children, as we can customize the pacing, heating breaks, and route duration entirely around your family's needs.
How does direct booking on alshemalnorway.no guarantee the lowest rate?
Direct booking bypasses third-party Online Travel Agency (OTA) commissions of up to 25%. Direct reservations include instant access to the self-service Bókun Customer Portal for fee-free itinerary adjustments up to 24 hours prior to departure, and allocate 0.5% of total value to carbon removal via Stripe Climate.
What are the port transfer logistics for cruise guests docking at Breivika Quay?
Guests berthing at Breivika Quays 24–25 (4.0 km north of downtown) receive guaranteed direct van drop-off right at the Breivika security gates on all late-night chases ending after public Bus 42 stops running at 00:30. All cruise excursions maintain a strict 1.5-hour all-aboard safety buffer prior to ship departure.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made up to 24 hours before departure receive a 100% full refund with zero administrative or cancellation fees. Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure are non-refundable. Tours canceled by Alshemal due to force majeure weather conditions are 100% refunded with zero fees.
When are tour photos delivered and what is the GDPR deletion policy?
High-resolution RAW files and professionally edited JPEG images are delivered via a private cloud link within 24 hours. Under Åndsverkloven § 104 and GDPR Article 5(1)(e), all cloud links and guest photo files are automatically deleted after 7 calendar days.
